How to change your Root Password

If you forget your root password or just would like to change it, follow the steps below:

- Login to your SolusVM Control Panel.
- Select Manage next to the server you wish to change the password for.
- Scroll down to the tabs section and select the Root/Admin Password tab.
- Select Change and a popup will be shown.

Below are some example screenshots:



- After reading the popup, continue by pressing Yes and allow a few minutes.
- You will now see a new root password generated. It is recommended to store your password somewhere safe and change at-least every week to ensure maximum security.

If you prefer to have your own customised password, please use the passwd command whilst logged in via SSH.
